Latest Updates from Our Project:
Half-way there! Mint Tin Carrying Case Details.

Cue Bon Jovi....
We are officially half-way through the campaign! 559% funded and closing in on 600 backers! I can't say it enough...Thank you! Alright, onwards with the updates.
Mint-Tin Case
I have settled on the size and style of the case. It will be about 8.5 inches length, 4.5 inches wide, and a little less than 2.5 inches height. 3 games will fit in the top, and 3 in the bottom. The schematic below shows the inside and the side view:
These are available as add-ons for $15 during the campaign, and will be $20 afterwards. Adding them during the campaign not only saves you money, it moves us closer to our next stretch goal. If you want to add the case to your order just go to "Manage my Pledge", re-select your pledge level, and then add any add-ons you want.
Player Mats
In the last update I mistakenly gave the dimensions of the player mats as 10 x 6. They are actually 10 x 16. I look forward to sharing the art progress in the next update.
Next Unlock
The $28,000 unlock will either be Mint Tin Stands or mini Dice Trays. Backers are voting in the comments and currently, Dice Trays have a commanding lead! I'll announce the winner in a pinned comment Wednesday night so as to avoid overwhelming you with updates. I'm working on the Dice Tray sizes and quotes currently. I'm looking to make them fit within the case.
New Interview:
Oliver from Don't be Board interviewed me about the games, the Kickstarter, and other fun topics. Check it out!
What's Next?
Next update in a week or when we hit $28,000, whichever comes first. I'm staying busy with working on the rulebooks so that we can get them a final proofread and edit and prepare them for the manufacturer as well as for the Italian digital translation and PnP files. Hwa, John, and Jonathan are working on the playmat art.
If you're in the US, please remember to vote! Thank you all for your support.

Playmats Unlocked! Help pick our next unlock.
– Sat, Nov 02, 2024 at 01:36:20 PM
Over $20,000 and over 500 backers in 10 days!
I continue to be amazed and overjoyed at the pace of this campaign and your support. Thank you all! I have some updates to share.
Playmats:
I have decided to go with double-sided playmats, one for the Battle Bundle and one for the Strategy bundle. They will by 10x6 inches and will be available as add-ons for $10 each ($5 off of MSRP). They will also be available in the pledge manager after the campaign, but at the $15 price point.
All of the artists are hard at work designing these and I will share progress in the updates. You can get updates more quickly on my Instagram, or the FB Group. They will all contain new original art and be designed to enhance the play experience/ immersion. So, Dice Clash will have an arena, Mint Tin Monster Mash-Up will put you inside of a mad scientist's lab, Verdant Arizona will have dirt paths and a populated market with beautiful desert flora, and Heritage Farms will have a river down the middle and beautiful farmland, as well as a graveyard for the lost pieces. I can't wait to see them.
You can wait to see more, but they will be available as add-ons when you see this update. Simply select "manage my pledge", re-select your pledge level, and then choose the add-ons you want.
Cases:
I have an estimate for the case, but need to nail down some additional details before I'm ready to commit to a price point and add them to the add-ons. I will keep you updated!
Next Unlock?
I have two options I'm considering unlocking at $28,000. First, stands for the games.
I love these for displaying my own mint tin games on the shelf. They would be simple 2-piece acrylics that slot together to create a display stand. They would be low cost.
The other option would be mini dice trays:
These would be small and could unsnap and lay flat. I would design them so they would fit inside the case. They would really only be helpful for the Battle Bundle games. I know I always pull out dice trays for Dice Clash and Mint-Tin Monster Mash-Up.
VOTE:
Which do you prefer? Comment "Stands" or "Dice Tray" in the main Comments and whichever gets the most votes by the end of Wednesday, November 6th, will be the next unlock. Hopefully it's the least stressful voting you have to do this coming week!
New Overviews:
Lance from Learn2Play did an overview of the series as well as playthroughs of all 4 games!
And AdamtheFanatic also did a great overview of the games. There's a few small rules mistakes but this is a great overview video. He has one of my favorite smaller channels. I highly encourage you to subscribe.
Lastly, I like to use this platform to highlight other great games from Indie creators. Right now, Katie Andrews has an amazing Mint Tin strategy game, Terreign, on crowdsale at the GameCrafter. If you're unfamiliar with crowdsales, they work a little like Kickstarters except that the price gets cheaper with the more people who pledge. I've played the game and - if you're excited by the games in the strategy bundle here - you will definitely dig this one. Take a look!
That's it for now. Tuesday will mark 2 weeks of the campaign, with 2 weeks to go! As always, anything you can do to help spread the word is appreciated!

First Week Report
– Tue, Oct 29, 2024 at 08:44:33 AM
Week 1 Report:
Wow. It's hard to believe it has only been a week of the campaign so far. Thank you to everyone who has backed and helped make this such a success! As of today the campaign has already exceeded both the backer and money totals of my first campaign. And we still have 3 weeks to go! For anyone who is interested, we have been moving up and down on the Kicktraq Hotlist (currently #15).
I've been caught a little by surprise with how quickly and steadily the numbers have been climbing and am playing catch-up with having my add-on information ready. We are probably only 2 or 3 days away from hitting $20K. Let me catch you up to speed.
Carrying Case:
I've been in discussion with the manufacturer about this and we will be making a custom one. I'm looking at a soft, padded case with a zipper, that securely holds up to 6 mint tin games. I'm thinking something akin to this:
I don't have quotes yet, but my hope is to keep it in the $15 - $20 range. Like everything else, I will also look to do a discounted price during the Kickstarter. I'll keep you updated!
Playmats:
My artists will be happy to hear I have more work for them! At $20,000, we will unlock neoprene playmats as add-ons for each game. I'm thinking dimensions of 10 x 16 inches (254 x 406mm). I used my Tin Helm playmat (which is the size I'm going for) to see how it would look for the different games.
Dice Clash:
Smallest footprint of all the games means plenty of room for art and your dice pools. Hwa will make this beautiful!
Mint-Tin Monster Mash-Up:
Space for everything including rolling the dice. Can't wait to see what John does for this!
Heritage Farms:
I think this will look really cool with the "river" down the middle.
Verdant Arizona:
There won't be room for the individual tableaus, but I think having the mat for the market will still be awesome.
What do you think? I want to keep the mats small and the same size. I still need a quote, but I'm shooting for the $12-$15 range. Like everything else, I will also look to do a discounted price during the Kickstarter.
Solo Modes?
There have been several questions about the player counts for the games. I have updated the Kickstarter page to more clearly relay this information right at the top. Every game supports 1 to 2 players. There are how-to-play videos for the solo modes in their sections. Some solo specific previews will be dropping soon!
Pledge Levels Update:
The "Everything Galen's Games" pledge level only has 11 spots left! This level is limited because I have a limited stock of the Acrylic Upgrade Packs remaining. When this one is all gone, I will make another one that includes the Mint Tin Series, Super Snipers, and the Light and Shadow Expansion, for $90.
Once I know my price points for the case and the playmats, I plan on creating an "All-In" pledge level. Like the rest of the campaign, expect that this will be the best possible deal on what's included.
Languages:
At this point, I do not have any additional languages to report. If anyone has the talent and wants to help translate the rulebooks for the games, please reach out.
Other Projects to Check Out:
Mini Moons:
Mini Moons is a very cute solo Mint Tin game with a surprising amount of table presence! I met Diego (designer) and Natasha (artist) at GenCon and they were kind enough to send me home with this game. They only have a couple days left on Kickstarter. Please take a look and - if you decide to back - comment that Galen sent you there :). Thanks!
Making Monsters:
Making Monsters is a game by Jonathan Gilmour-Long and David Gordon with a similar theme (but very different gameplay) to Mint Tin Monster Mash-Up. Haven't played this one but I know the designers and it looks great! Take a look and, again, if you back, please let them know I sent you in the Comments section!
That's it for now. Please keep sharing the project and I look forward to announcing that we've unlocked those playmats soon!

We've passed $12,000! Carrying Case Add-On Unlocked
about 2 months ago
– Thu, Oct 24, 2024 at 04:05:35 AM
First Stretch Goal Unlocked!
That was fast! As of this morning we are over 300% funded at $12,322 and 341 Backers! Thanks to everyone who participated in voting for our first Add-On unlock! The carrying case was the overwhelming winner. We also hit our goal at the same time that the vote came in, so I still have some work to do before I can announce all the details about the carrying case (dimensions, price, color, etc). Here's what I can tell you so far:
I'm looking at a soft, zippered case, with room for 6 Mint Tin Games (you may want to bring more than just mine!). I want there to be inside pockets to keep the games secure and for it to have some padding/ protection. If you've ever had or seen a soft case for a harmonica set, you'll have an idea of what I'm thinking.
I've started the conversation with the manufacturer and am getting together the details so I can get a quote and set a price. It will take some time, but it will be there!
Stretch Goal #2: Playmats
Playmats are great for simplifying set-ups, keeping cards from sliding around, and for displaying amazing art (and these games have amazing art!). If the campaign can reach $20,000 we will unlock custom playmats for each of the 4 games as add-ons. Let's go!
Busy Week for me:
Besides my day job, it is my birthday tomorrow and a packed weekend of Fall adventures. I will absolutely be keeping an eye on the campaign, but may not be as responsive as usual. There is more preview content and how-to-play videos coming soon and throughout the campaign. I will be sharing and adding to the page as they come.
That's it for now. I remain very excited for this campaign and the momentum thus far. I appreciate all of you!

Fully Funded! Thank you!

What a first day!
We are 8 hours into the campaign that I launched this morning and I'm overjoyed to report the following:
We surpassed our funding goal of $4000 in 90 minutes!
As of this writing, we are nearly at 200% funded with 227 backers!
You guys all came out in a big way today and I'm super appreciative. With my last campaign I had to wait 36 hours to hit that "funded" mark, and this was so much less stressful!
So What Now?
Well, we still have 27 more days of the campaign and lots of room to grow additional support. While we won't be doing content related stretch goals, I do have some thoughts about add-ons that could be unlocked.
Stretch Goals:
In a pre-campaign survey, potential backers were asked what they would prefer between Acrylic Keychains, A Carrying Case for the Mint Tin Games, and Neoprene Playmats for the games. The Carrying Case was the clear favorite, but I'm going to let the backer community decide which to unlock first. Just comment your preference on the Kickstarter Comments. I'll keep a tally through the end of the day tomorrow and then announce it. We will set the first unlock goal to $12,000. Let's share the campaign around so we can get there quickly!
Starting the Process:
One of the advantages of having the games complete from the start is - now that we are funded - I can start working with my artists and graphic design folks to get the files prepped for manufacturing. We will get going on that soon and I will keep you updated.
Have Fun!
If you just want to pledge and forget until it's time to do the Pledge Manager, that's 100% fine. If you want to connect, talk games, and maybe play some of these on TTS, that would be awesome too! I'd love to stay in touch and make the most out of this time together.
