Week 1 Report:
Wow. It's hard to believe it has only been a week of the campaign so far. Thank you to everyone who has backed and helped make this such a success! As of today the campaign has already exceeded both the backer and money totals of my first campaign. And we still have 3 weeks to go! For anyone who is interested, we have been moving up and down on the Kicktraq Hotlist (currently #15).
I've been caught a little by surprise with how quickly and steadily the numbers have been climbing and am playing catch-up with having my add-on information ready. We are probably only 2 or 3 days away from hitting $20K. Let me catch you up to speed.
Carrying Case:
I've been in discussion with the manufacturer about this and we will be making a custom one. I'm looking at a soft, padded case with a zipper, that securely holds up to 6 mint tin games. I'm thinking something akin to this:
I don't have quotes yet, but my hope is to keep it in the $15 - $20 range. Like everything else, I will also look to do a discounted price during the Kickstarter. I'll keep you updated!
Playmats:
My artists will be happy to hear I have more work for them! At $20,000, we will unlock neoprene playmats as add-ons for each game. I'm thinking dimensions of 10 x 16 inches (254 x 406mm). I used my Tin Helm playmat (which is the size I'm going for) to see how it would look for the different games.
Dice Clash:
Smallest footprint of all the games means plenty of room for art and your dice pools. Hwa will make this beautiful!
Mint-Tin Monster Mash-Up:
Space for everything including rolling the dice. Can't wait to see what John does for this!
Heritage Farms:
I think this will look really cool with the "river" down the middle.
Verdant Arizona:
There won't be room for the individual tableaus, but I think having the mat for the market will still be awesome.
What do you think? I want to keep the mats small and the same size. I still need a quote, but I'm shooting for the $12-$15 range. Like everything else, I will also look to do a discounted price during the Kickstarter.
Solo Modes?
There have been several questions about the player counts for the games. I have updated the Kickstarter page to more clearly relay this information right at the top. Every game supports 1 to 2 players. There are how-to-play videos for the solo modes in their sections. Some solo specific previews will be dropping soon!
Pledge Levels Update:
The "Everything Galen's Games" pledge level only has 11 spots left! This level is limited because I have a limited stock of the Acrylic Upgrade Packs remaining. When this one is all gone, I will make another one that includes the Mint Tin Series, Super Snipers, and the Light and Shadow Expansion, for $90.
Once I know my price points for the case and the playmats, I plan on creating an "All-In" pledge level. Like the rest of the campaign, expect that this will be the best possible deal on what's included.
Languages:
At this point, I do not have any additional languages to report. If anyone has the talent and wants to help translate the rulebooks for the games, please reach out.
Other Projects to Check Out:
Mini Moons:
Mini Moons is a very cute solo Mint Tin game with a surprising amount of table presence! I met Diego (designer) and Natasha (artist) at GenCon and they were kind enough to send me home with this game. They only have a couple days left on Kickstarter. Please take a look and - if you decide to back - comment that Galen sent you there :). Thanks!
Making Monsters:
Making Monsters is a game by Jonathan Gilmour-Long and David Gordon with a similar theme (but very different gameplay) to Mint Tin Monster Mash-Up. Haven't played this one but I know the designers and it looks great! Take a look and, again, if you back, please let them know I sent you in the Comments section!
That's it for now. Please keep sharing the project and I look forward to announcing that we've unlocked those playmats soon!
Galen.
